Tereza Tomanová (b. 1991, Hodonín; lives and works in Prague) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. During her studies, she completed international study visits at the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht in the Netherlands and St. Cyril and St. Methodius University in Bulgaria. Her work has long revolved around the theme of the garden, which she perceives as a place of encounter, growth, and transformation.
In her practice, she works with self-prepared natural dyes based on anthocyanins and other organic materials, allowing them to crystallize directly on the canvas in combination with added substances.
Her works have been presented in exhibitions at Karpuchina Gallery, Galerie SPZ in Prague, HAB Gallery in Budapest, and Credo Bonum Gallery in Sofia.
In her paintings, Tomanová creates tension between controlled artistic gesture and the autonomous behavior of the medium, with natural cycles, impermanence, and the exploration of "what meets what" forming the core of her visual language.
